Svastha, a Sanskrit term defining health, is defined here as the balance of the three doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha),

balanced digestive fire, properly formed bodily tissues, regular elimination of the excretas (urine, feces, and sweat),

a blissful state of the soul, a balanced state of mind and a contentment of the senses.

Svastha literally means to stand within your Self.

    Ayurveda treats the individual rather than a generic disease, because beyond every pathology or imbalance is an individual whom is completely unique in nature. Just as the forest has a diverse species of trees with a rich variety of fruits and flowers, so the world has many different types of people.  In this way we can see that just as nature has limitless expressions, so is each individual human being a unique expression of nature. In a society of fad diets, superfoods and generic approaches to health and wellness, Ayurveda provides a refreshing and much needed alternative to finding balance according to your own unique constitution. Because no diet or lifestyle will work for everyone, Ayurveda is not a one-size fits all approach. Ayurveda provides the depth and insight to provide each individual with a customized protocol for healing, making the system of Ayurvedic healing a truly personalized approach. 

An Ayurvedic Consultation- What to Expect? 

    We often find ourself at the doctors office spending more time in the waiting room than with the doctor. The relationship we have with our doctors have become a superficial exchange, as we usually only have a few minutes to explain our symptoms before we are given a few words of advice, a prescription, and out the door. We are given little time or space with our doctors to fully express the complexities and depths of our concerns, nor are we given the tools in which to empower ourselves in our daily lives so that we can take full responsibility for our wellbeing. All healing modalities have their strengths and limitations. That is why using Ayurveda as a compliment to any medical system is essential to form a complete, holistic, and integrative approach to healing.

    My aim in providing you the service of an Ayurvedic consultation is the necessary time, space, and opportunity to dive deeply into your own journey of healing. In this safe space of healing, we can arrive together at the root cause of your present state of balance. You will be given a supportive, receptive and nurturing space to unfold your personal story while being given the  grounding insight, education, and support of ancient Ayurvedic principles as your guiding light to feel empowered in your healing process. Along with the element of sharing your experience in a safe space, you may be guided through forms of deep meditative self inquiry, exploration of breath work and meditation techniques—all guiding you towards discovering the innate wisdom of your own body to heal. A full examination of your personal health history as well as pulse, tongue, eyes and other forms of Ayurvedic diagnostic tools  will provide an additional insight into a complete picture of your current state. After this complete investigation of the state of body, mind, and spirit we will craft together a protocol that is in alignment with your goals, needs, capacities, and present interests to work towards bringing lasting change in your life.  

    Healing also requires a change in perspective, patience, self-discipline, love, and surrender. Choosing to embark upon an Ayurvedic path is a lifelong journey, that begins with getting to know your Self.
