Mung Bean Crepes & Cilantro Chutney
Come learn about the art of Indian & Ayurvedic Cooking through a simple recipe that can be made and enjoyed by everyone!
The mung bean is a special legume used in Ayurveda as a part of detoxification as it is light and easy to digest compared to other beans. The mung bean is typically cooked as a soup called DAL, or in a detoxification stew called KITCHARI, eaten during Panchakarma- Ayurveda's detoxification program.
In this cooking class we will be using the mung bean to create a light meal that is great for SPRING. In Springtime it is best to lighten up our diet as we prepare for more warmer months. This crepe is a wonderful and easy dish that can be modified through spices and add on ingredients to make it suitable for all constitutions and digestive capacities! We will also learn how to incorporate numerous healing spices to promote digestion and elimination of toxins while enjoying a delicious meal together.
In Ayurveda, food is the ultimate medicine. Eating according to our own unique constitution and present state of imbalance is key to achieving perfect health, stable mind, and connection with our spirit.
Food IS consciousness, and when we add awareness to the whole process of cooking, food can become our medicine.
Come learn, cook, eat, and enjoy the delicious tastes of Indian cooking.
