The Four Foundations of Mindfulness
In northern India some 2,600 years ago, the Buddha taught that meditation within the four foundations of mindfulness was the only way to reach the deepest and most profound peace. In this 4-class series we’ll be discussing these four foundations of mindfulness and exploring the practical and immediate ways that we can put them to use.
Week 1: Mindfulness of the Body
In this week’s class we’ll be talking about some of the ways we might meditate on the body, such as through the breath, awareness of its postures and movements, reflection on the material elements of the body, and contemplation of decay and death.
