Life is a Relationship.

What is Ayurveda?

  • Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old science of holistic healing that uses diet, lifestyle, herbs, yoga and meditation to bring balance within the body, mind and soul

  • Originating in India, Ayurveda is rooted in the remembrance of the healing potential that lies in aligning yourself with the rhythms of nature. Ayu means “life” and Veda means “wisdom or knowledge,” so Ayurveda literally means the knowledge of life and how to live in harmony with your environment according to your own individual constitution.

  • The goal of Ayurveda is to promote health, prevent disease and enhance longevity of life.

  • Focusing on each individual, Ayurveda works on treating the root cause of our symptoms to help eradicate the onset of future diseases.

  • Ayurveda provides profound insight into how we can live our best life, be our most radiant self, and discover happiness and peace within.

Svastha, a Sanskrit term defining health, is defined here as the balance of the three doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha),

balanced digestive fire, properly formed bodily tissues, regular elimination of the excretas (urine, feces, and sweat),

a blissful state of the soul, a balanced state of mind and a contentment of the senses.

Svastha literally means to stand within your Self.

An Ayurvedic Definition of Health

Ayurveda, A Complete Way of Being

The depth of wisdom that Ayurveda provides mankind is limitless, as Ayurveda literally       means “the knowledge of life.” Going beyond the superficial understanding of wellbeing, Ayurveda views health as a dynamic state of being involving the body, mind, and spirit. While examining the importance of diet, lifestyle, herbs and treatments in maintaining health, Ayurveda is also a complete way of being that is rooted in the time-less laws of nature. A true art of living, Ayurveda is a system of healing which examines the entirety of

all existence from the relationship you have with yourself to your global environment. Rather than a man-made creation or modern discovery, Ayurveda is a vast and expansive

body of knowledge rooted in the direct experience and remembrance of Nature’s wisdom, providing the framework and the tools to help guide you towards greater insight into how to live in alignment with your true nature and your environment.  If you decide to walk down the path of Ayurvedic wisdom and apply these teachings in your daily life with sincerity and regularity, you can empower yourself to find alignment with your highest potential, bring lasting health, and longevity of life

A Personalized Approach

Ayurveda treats the individual rather than a generic disease, because beyond every pathology or imbalance is an individual whom is completely unique in nature. Just as the forest has a diverse species of trees with a rich variety of fruits and flowers, so the world has many different types of people.  In this way we can see that just as nature has limitless expressions, so is each individual human being a unique expression of nature. In a society of fad diets, superfoods and generic approaches to health and wellness, Ayurveda provides a refreshing and much needed alternative to finding balance according to your own unique constitution. Because no diet or lifestyle will work for everyone, Ayurveda is not a one-size fits all approach. Ayurveda provides the depth and insight to provide each individual with a customized protocol for healing, making the system of Ayurvedic healing a truly personalized approach.

An Ayurvedic Consultation- What to Expect?

We often find ourself at the doctors office spending more time in the waiting room than with the doctor. The relationship we have with our doctors have become a superficial exchange, as we usually only have a few minutes to explain our symptoms before we are given a few words of advice, a prescription, and out the door. We are given little time or space with our doctors to fully express the complexities and depths of our concerns, nor are we given the tools in which to empower ourselves in our daily lives so that we can take full responsibility for our wellbeing. All healing modalities have their strengths and limitations. That is why using Ayurveda as a compliment to any medical system is essential to form a complete, holistic, and integrative approach to healing.

My aim in providing you the service of an Ayurvedic consultation is the necessary time, space, and opportunity to dive deeply into your own journey of healing. In this safe space of healing, we can arrive together at the root cause of your present state of balance. You will be given a supportive, receptive and nurturing space to unfold your personal story while being given the  grounding insight, education, and support of ancient Ayurvedic principles as your guiding light to feel empowered in your healing process. Along with the element of sharing your experience in a safe space, you may be guided through forms of deep meditative self inquiry, exploration of breath work and meditation techniques—all guiding you towards discovering the innate wisdom of your own body to heal. A full examination of your personal health history as well as pulse, tongue, eyes and other forms of Ayurvedic diagnostic tools  will provide an additional insight into a complete picture of your current state. After this complete investigation of the state of body, mind, and spirit we will craft together a protocol that is in alignment with your goals, needs, capacities, and present interests to work towards bringing lasting change in your life.

Healing also requires a change in perspective, patience, self-discipline, love, and surrender. Choosing to embark upon an Ayurvedic path is a lifelong journey, that begins with getting to know your Self. In an Ayurvedic consultation, you will be given this sacred opportunity to explore and uncover many layers of your self to ultimately uncover and find clarity in your higher purpose. Lasting change happens gradually rather than overnight. Working with Ayurveda is not a quick-fix, but requires steady, consistent, regular practice in applying new ways of being that will slowly but steadily transform your whole life.

Discover Your Healing Potential

Using the grand scope of Vedic Wisdom as our lens, let us journey together through the inner landscape into the depths of being. Healing the body often begins with looking at the field of the mind- the thoughts, habits and patterns that form our relationships, choices, and momentary decisions. Finding the appropriate tools that resonate with you is the key to navigating, harnessing, and transcending the mental fluctuations that keep us stuck in old habits and patterns. If you are consistent in practicing and applying Ayurvedic wisdom in your daily life, you can gradually begin to shift, transform, and open the horizon of your perspective to a more clear, aware, and receptive state of mind in which you can be fully in touch with your own inner wisdom of the spirit. In this space of insight and intuition stemming from purity, stillness and clarity of mind a spontaneous, natural, and abundant healing can flow through you. Beyond personal and social constructs and expectations lay the frontier of your higher Nature, let us remember together how to continuously arrive there in each moment of every day in order to live from your highest potential. Ayurveda teaches us to let the whole of life be our teacher, in a journey that begins with moment to moment awareness.

I began working with Natalie during a time when it seemed like so many things were going wrong with my health and I didn't know where to turn.  I had tried many alternative health practitioners and practices with limited success and sometimes detrimental effects.  My western doctors just wanted to put me on medications that had side effects that were sometimes worse that the meds.

When I started working with Natalie, my health started improving in a gradual and defined way.  Over the course of several months, my blood pressure returned to normal and my doctor took me off my blood pressure medications, the swelling in my ankles went away, my digestive system normalized, my breathing difficulties improved, my heart palpitations disappeared, the acid reflux went away, my energy level increased and the need to nap for hours in the afternoon went away.

I can't even begin to describe how amazing it is to work with an Ayurvedic practitioner like Natalie.  She is a talented and compassionate healer.  Her consultations are thorough and her recommendations are comprehensive to address the body, mind and spirit.  She also provides marma treatments that are wonderfully rejuvenating and relaxing.  I am forever grateful to Natalie for her tireless work to help me restore my health.  She even made herself available via phone, text, email and skype when a face to face consultation was not possible.  She is truly a rare find in today's world."
